Is It Time to Buy El Nino Insurance?

Well, the El Nino predictions for this coming winter seem to be firming up, just when I was starting to kick my Howard Sheckter addiction. Now, I say we don't start celebrating until there's actually snow on the ground...

But maybe you should think about nabbing a Baldy Pass.

Yes, there's an excellent chance you'll never even get to use it, but they're cheap, they're for a good cause (or possibly some sort of offshore money-laundering scheme; who can say?), and if a mega-winter hits, it'll be as if Mammoth suddenly relocated to Clairmont.

You know it's bad when every news source, every blog, and people who know nothing about weather start posting about el nino on social media. Just hope it produces this time and doesn't fizzle out like in the past. Only time will tell... and a lot of patience to get through summer/fall.
