Black Diamond Windstopper Tech Gloves
This an older model, now replaced by the Black Diamond Windstopper Tech. Windstopper fleece makes these a cozy glove with surprising versatility. Wear them on their own as a spring glove, or pair them with an outer, waterproof shell for a highly effective all-season handwear system.
On its own, windstopper fleece proves to be very warm. In fact, my brother uses these as an alpine ski glove even in mid-winter—they're that warm. They're also a fine choice in-camp during those icy winter months.
The palm has a leather patch that gives some grip on an axe handle, but not really enough to feel secure in dicey situations (a problem hopefully fixed by the updated Windstopper Tech).
I use these as a cold-weather hiking glove when I know I'm not going to see much snow. Alternately, I'll toss these in my pack when winter camping for extra warmth inside the tent.
