Hydration

For water treatment, I lean toward MSR's Hyperflow microfilter because it's light. In my opinion, however, the Katadyn Hiker is the better filter. BPA fears are leading to a phase-out of Lexan containers. Stick with Nalgene's classic and lightweight HDPE bottle for the safest known plastic, or try the stainless steel Klean Kanteen for the safest choice overall. Nalgene's new Tritan bottles are BPA-free, but otherwise have no track record.
