Backpacks

A Ski Mountaineer's pack must be many things at once: as light as possible, yet capable of carrying heavy loads (including skis or snowboard), and certainly rugged enough to handle lots of abuse.

For short tours, a daypack that you can attach skis to will likely suffice. Overnight adventures will put you in the 44-55 liter range. And whatever you pick, you'll need to feel comfortable skiing it in.
