Some packs you date, some you marry. I probably picked this pack up in the early 80's, if you can believe that.

It's so old I have no idea what it's called, but it says a lot about the pack and its maker that I still consider it my first choice for day hikes, and I take it with me every time I travel.

The design is super-clean, and the pack absolutely hugs your back regardless of what you're doing thanks to its clever teardrop shape. There's a daisy chain and an axe loop, and I once tied skis to the bottom when I climbed up a chute outside Santiago, Chile. A classic!

Alas, my beloved TNF Daypack was finally forced into retirement after I got covered in asbestos-like rock while climbing Strawberry Peak.
