Skiing North Peak’s North Couloir
With Tioga Pass Road opening this past weekend, it seemed natural to try to find something to ski in the area.
Reports of snow led me to the Conness/North Peak area, where I skied North Peak’s challenging North Couloir.
This proved to be a more technical venture than I expected, but it was in every way a tremendous adventure—one of the best I’ve had in the California Backcountry.
