Jetboil Sol Ti
Ever since I got my Jetboil PCS stove, I haven't used another backpacking stove in the backcountry—that's how much I like it, despite the extra weight. But there's a new sheriff in town, and its name is the Jetboil Sol Ti, offering improved cold-weather performance at very nearly half the weight of the venerable PCS. Now that it's Winter have you gotten a chance to compare the two Jetboils in cold weather? I watched a couple guys cook at Whitney Portal last spring with temps around freezing. One with the PCS the other with the Sol. The new model boiled in much less time, probably due to the regulator.
I'm interested because I've decided that my PCS just doesn't cut it below freezing. Too much trouble to keep the canister warm.
