The Throoping Will Continue…

Until morale improves. Although, actually, morale is pretty good right now. The 2 is open and... what on Earth is happening out there, people? It's madness. Madness!

But in a good way.

I am looking out my window right now at a San Gabriel snowpack we would kill for absolutely any day of the year. We've been handed a whole-nother winter.

It's a pre-winter. It's a bonus winter. It's an extra winter. Whatever winter it is, it's a fantastic one. And all of it made drive-up accessible by the sudden and utterly-inexplicable diligence of the California Department of Transportation.

Watch for icefall from trees, and watch also for rapid hardening as that glorious deep saturated snowpack meets clear cold November nights. Otherwise, I say ski your brains out. That's what I'm going to do.

And once winter finally gets here... I'm going to do it some more.

Nice! I was also considering doing the "Throop Scoot" last weekend. How did the snowpack seem to shaping up? Did you guys dig any pits or take any depth measurements? It's great to see other people getting out there in the San Gabriels!

I did a bunch of hasty tests to see if anything was reactive. We have a deep and complex snowpack out there now, so it's probably a good idea to keep an eye on things esp if large storms add more to the mix
