The Rocket Tent!

Let's call Brooks Range's Rocket Tent proof of concept—and the concept is a clever one: reduce weight to the absolute minimum by hybridizing ski gear. I think a floorless shelter like the BD Betalight is a far more practical shelter than this breed of minimalist tents. For the same weight you get a shelter that houses two and their gear, you can dig out the floor, avoid condensation-laden walls, and generally get more use out of the thing. You can also pitch it with no difficulty. Over a boulder. That's hard to do with a tent.
